Single-Vehicle Crash in Horry County Leaves One Person Critically Injured

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. – An early morning single-vehicle accident on Sunday resulted in downed utility lines and required emergency crews to extricate an individual trapped inside the vehicle.

The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. near Joyner Swamp Road and Nichols Highway in Galivants Ferry, according to Horry County Fire Rescue. The vehicle collided with a tree, causing significant damage and trapping at least one person inside.

Emergency responders reported critical injuries and are currently working to repair the damaged utility equipment.
